Our team (Peter, Zurielly, Jared, Josh and I) went to Acapulco last week on a staff retreat and stayed at an available house there that is sometimes used for an MTW ministry in Acapulco. We had fun in the sun but also some good discussions to talk about what we’ve learned from the past few semesters and plan for the next one. Overall I think it was a really necessary time for our team to connect and focus on both student and team issues as well as planning for the next semester.
Our week, however, was not without a few mishaps, including a Tsunami-sized wave that wiped Jared and I out even when we were pretty far out from the shore. We both were scraped up pretty seriously on the sand, and the ocean really beat us up. I’m just glad it wasn’t more serious! Here’s an artist’s rendering of the killer wave as it struck:
To quote the famous George Costanza, “The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to return soup at a deli!”
